10:20 p.m. Monday after an illness of several weeks. Born in
Flint, Ind., Jan 8, 1856, he came here 25 years ago from
Elkhart, Ind. On Jan 25, 1941 in Angola, Ind he married Mrs.
Ida Heiner, who survives. Other survivors are a son, C.A.
Mabie, Elkhart; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Messenger, Jackson,
Mich., two stepsons, Henry Heiner, Elkhart, and Earl Heiner,
South Bend; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one
step great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Coulter,
Sturgis, Mich; and Mrs. Ella Shamk, Elkhart. Friends may call
in the Hay funeral home after 7 p.m. today until funeral
services there at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Rev. A. E. Whitted,
pastor of the Ardmore Brethren Church will officiate. Burial
will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Sturgis, Mich
