(Della ) Myers, 74, of the Etna community in Whitley County,
died at approximately 7 o'clock Wednesday night at the McDonald
Hospital. She had been ill with carcinoma for six months. Mrs.
Myers was born in Kansas on Dec 24, 1874, the daughter of John
and Anna Mabie. She was married to Frank Myers on Mar 8, 1899.
Surviving are the husband; four sons, Charles, John, Chester,
of near Etna, and Claude, of north of Warsaw; four daughters,
Mrs. Anna Coyle, of Elkhart, Mrs. Jane Hickman, of near
Syracuse, Mrs. Bertha Tom, of near North Webster, and Mrs.
Helen Richards, of near Etna; two brothers, Ben Mabie, of North
Webster, and Eli Mabie, of Cromwell; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth
Harp, of Ligonier; 39 grandchildren, and seven
great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Boggs and Mrs.
Laurah Miller, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Etna Methodist church, of which
she was a member. Rev. Albert Rider will officiate, and burial
will be in Salem cemetery at Wilnot. Friends may call at the
Troxel funeral home in North Webster until noon Saturday, at
which time the body will be taken to the church.
