John married Marie d'Évreux Duchess of Brabant [13281] [MRIN: 4053], daughter of Louis de France Count of Evreux [13282] and Unknown, in 1311. (Marie d'Évreux Duchess of Brabant [13281] was born in 1303 and died on 31 Oct 1335.)

In 1311, Marie married John III, Duke of Brabant as his father's gesture of rapprochement with France . They had six children:

She was Duchess of Brabant by her marriage to John III, Duke of Brabant. Her paternal grandmother being Marie of Brabant, she was a great-granddaughter of Henry III, Duke of Brabant and so, her husband's second cousin.
