The Cumans were the western tribes of the Cuman-Kipchak confederation. The Cumans were a confederation of Turkic speaking peoples who spoke the Cuman language / Kipchak languages . Her people followed a Shamanist religion and were considered Pagans by their contemporary Christians of Europe .

• Acceded: Regent of Hungary, 1272. She was regent of Hungary during the minority of her son in 1272-1277.

Elizabeth married Stephen V of Hungary King of Hungary [8356] [MRIN: 3425], son of Béla IV of Hungary King of Hungary [8349] and Maria Laskaris [8350], about 1253. (Stephen V of Hungary King of Hungary [8356] was born before 18 Oct 1239 in Buda, Hungary and died on 6 Aug 1272 in Csepel Island, Hungary.)

  Marriage Notes:

Stephen's father, attempting to bind the powerful but pagan Cuman tribes more closely to the dynasty , arranged for Stephen's marriage, as a youth (about 1253), to Elizabeth, the daughter of a Cuman chieftain Köten .
