Had an affair with Margaret Douglas <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/Bios/MargaretDouglas.htm>, later Countess of Lennox, who had previously had been imprisioned for contracted marriage with his uncle Thomas. Finally unmarried, Charles died in France.

Charles married Lady Margaret Douglas Countess Lennox [16594] [MRIN: 551615808], daughter of Archibald Douglas 6th Earl of Angus [29584] and Margaret Tudor Queen of Scotland [15723]. (Lady Margaret Douglas Countess Lennox [16594] was born on 6 Oct 1515 in Harbottle, died on 9 Mar 1577 in Hackney and was buried on 3 Apr 1577 in Westminster Abbey, London, England.)
