Cynric succeeded his father as King of West Saxons (King of Wessex) from 534-560. He reigned twenty six winters. In 522 he fought the Britons on the spot that is called Sarum and made them take flight. In 556 he fought Ceawlin at Beranbury. (C-437) From the "Line of Descent of Queen Elizabeth II" it states that Cynric is the son of Crioda and Crioda is the son of Cerdic.
