Politician and collector. John, Lord Lumley, inherited his grandfather's estates while still an infant. He was restored in blood in 1547, and was created a Baron and Knight of the Bath in 1553, on Sep 29th, two days before the coronation of Queen Mary <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/aboutMary.htm>.

The estates, at his death in 1609, were bequeathed to Sir Richard Lumley, a grandson of Anthony Lumley, who was a brother to his grandfather.

John married Joan FitzAlan Baroness Lumley [43018] [MRIN: 551609637], daughter of Henry FitzAlan 18th Earl of Arundel [19476] and Catherine Grey [19477]. (Joan FitzAlan Baroness Lumley [43018] was born about 1537 and died in 1576.)

John next married Elizabeth Darcy Baroness Lumley [5488] [MRIN: 551609806], daughter of John Darcy 2nd Baron Darcy of Chiche [2451] [LHJT-63T] and Frances Rich Baron Darcy of Chiche [2452] [L8B8-G5G]. (Elizabeth Darcy Baroness Lumley [5488] died on 2 Feb 1615/16.)
