He was the uncle of Catherine Parr <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/aboutCatherineParr.htm>, the last wife of Henry VIII <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/aboutHenryVIII.htm> of England. As such, he was chamberlain to her Majesty. He was made a peer of the realm on 23 Dec 1543.
