Founder of the KILDARE LINE of the FITZGERALD FAMILY
younger son of Walter Fitzother, Constable of Pembroke, to whom King Henry I gave the Manor of Moulesford in Berkshire. He married Nest, dau. of the last King of Deheubarth. Nest (called the "Helen of Troy of Wales") had a son by Henry I. Gerald was officer to Arnulf De Montgomery and a great favorite of Henry I, from whom he received Moulsford in Berkshire.
Gerald married Nest ap Rhys Princess of Deheubarth [3834] [MRIN: 1098], daughter of Rhys ap Tewdwr Mawr Prince of Deheubarth [6021] and Gwladys ferch Rhiwallon [3836], about 1100. (Nest ap Rhys Princess of Deheubarth [3834] died before 1136.)
