• Anecdote. ¹⁴¹⁷ PFP obituary read: Freeman H. Mabee, son of Oliver D. and Susan
Mabee was born at Goshen,,Ontario, Canada on May 18, 1865. He
came to Clinton Co., Iowa in 1871 with his parents, and to
Turner Co. in i878 and homesteaded. He farmed until 1912 when
he moved to Parker and operated an implement and Dodge
Automobile business. He married Adella Costain, daughter of
Thomas B. and Hannah Costain. She was born in 1888 and passed
away in 1895. They were the parents of five children: Jessie E.
Mabee Fox, John T. Mabee, Harold Homer Mabee, Athol Keith
Mabee, Adella Mabee Sturdevant, and Oliver D. Mabee, four of
whom are living. John T. Mabee is deceased and Harold Homer was
killed in France, November 2, 1918 in WWI. Freeman H Mabee died
on August 6, 1922. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the
Baptist church. Athol Mabee was a world War I Veteran.

• Obituary. ¹⁴¹⁷ Freeman H. Mabee, son of Oliver D. and Susan Mabee was born at
