• Anecdote. 535 Casparus P. Mabie joined the King's Orange County Regiment and served on the British side throughout the war. He settled at St. John, New Brunswick, where he died in 1822.

"Will of Peter Mabye, of Harrington Township, Bergen County, NJ, dated 6/5/1797, proved 6/27/1797. Mentions sons John (eldest), Isaac, Casparus, Myndert, Abraham and Jeremias "who is not capable of supporting himself" and daughters Gerretye, Sophia, Cathrina, Elizabeth and granddaughter Margaret (daughter of Anatie, who married Johanes Vanhorn). Not mentioned: sons Peter and Martinus. NOTE: The published abstract of this Will does not include the name Casparus, although he is named in the written will.
