The Complete Peerage V.ix,p714. He was buried at Whitchurch, disinterred, his head sent to York, and his quarters to London, Newcastle, Bristol and Chester, and then sent to his widow. Knight of the Garter. Called Hotspur. Present at the capture of Ber wick-on-Tweed in 1378. Served later in further wars against the Scots a nd taken prisoner at the battle of Otterburn. Employed for a time in the war in France. Engaged in the suppression of the Welsh under Owen Glendower. Killed at the battle of Shrewsbury.
