Mary le Scrope was born illegitimately before 1630.1 She was the daughter of Emmanuel Scrope, 1st Earl of Sunderland and Martha Jeanes .1 She married, firstly, Henry Carey, Lord Leppington , son of Henry Carey, 2nd Earl of Monmouth , before 1649.2 She married Charles Powlett, 1st Duke of Bolton , son of John Paulet, 5th Marquess of Winchester and Hon. Jane Savage on 12 February 1654/55 at St. Dionis Backchurch, London, England .1 She died on 1 November 1680 at Moulins, France .2 She was buried on 12 November 1680 at Wensley, Yorkshire, England .2 Her will was probated in 1681.2
From before 1649, her married name became Carey.2 From 12 February 1654/55, her married name became Powlett.1
