Gave his name to Pembroke College, Oxford was an investor in the Bermuda Company to colonize the Bermuda islands from 1612 onwards, Pembroke Parish, Bermuda is named after him, Chancellor of Oxford University 1617-30, there is a statue of him in the Schools Quadrangle, when Pembroke College, Oxford was founded in 1624 it was named after him. He and his brother Phillip are "the incomparable pair" to whom the First Folio of Shakespeare's Works is dedicated.
