• Immigration. ¹⁰⁴¹⁹ Peter and Elenor moved to Saratoga after having lived in
Dutchess County. Peter's estate in Saratoga was confiscated
because he was a Loyalist

• Residence, 1776, Saratoga, , New York. ⁴³³ rented out the Dutchess County farm moving to 100 acre farm in
Saratoga

• Immigration, Jul 1779, Sorel, , Quebec, Canada. ^10419,10420 The many loyalists have arrived on the Albany, the Susquehanna,
the Charlotte, and the Glouster .in July 1779, Captain Daniel
McAlpin, from the 60th regiment, informs the governor that the
country has 853 more loyal supporters and that 87 of them are
resident in Sorel....There are some children and a score of
women: Mrs. Dalmage and her child, Mrs. Foster, Parrot, Wilson.
This one has four children. Mrs. McKinnon, Mann, Hartman, Mann,
Bustead, Maybee, Jones, Rogers, Borden, Stephens, McIntosh,
MacDonnel, Hullibert, Harris; the Cassel family is represented
by four children.

• Anecdote, Feb 1786, Canada. ¹⁰⁴¹⁹ Elenor Hoffman, widow of Peter Maybee, made a claim under the
UEL act. According to her claim, Peter had moved to Saratoga
after having lived in Dutchess County, and they had a son named
John who was 12 years old at the time of Eleanor's statement.
Peter's estate in Saratoga was confiscated, and Eleanor was
living in Sorel in 1783. It appears from the document that
Eleanor's statement was given in February 1788, making son
John's birth year approximately 1775.

Claimant swears:
Says she resided at Sorel in 1783. Her eldest son John is
12 years of age. She is married to Joseph Hoffman. Peter was a
Native of America lived at Saratoga joined the British in 1776,
joined Col Jessup died in Canada in the Winter of 1777 he had
been with Bourgogne
She went to Canada the Summer after her Husbands death.
No. 1. Her husband had 150 acres in Dutchess County He had
it by gift from his father 20 years age on his marriage. He
lived there 4 years 90 acres clear. He let it when he went
away. She thinks the rent was 19.c per annum
No.2. He went and settled at Saratoga on lease lands. He
had a lease for 3 hives 8 or 9 years before the War He had
about 100 acres. Rent was £4.10 York after 10 years. He had
improved 60 acres.
Has heard a rebel officer is settled on No. 1.
He had 2 good horses - 2 cows - 2 calves - 10 sheep - 16 hogs -
furniture and utensils.

Eleanor married Peter Mabie [39227] [MRIN: 551604060], son of Simon Mabie [39295] and Marie Landrin [39214], about 1751.¹⁰⁴¹⁹ (Peter Mabie [39227] was born about 1734 in New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York ⁴³³ and died in 1777 in Canada ^433,10419.)
