Hawkins, 85, 0f 2601 Oakland Ave., died at 5:23 a.m. Tuesday in
Rosewood Terrace, where she was a patient for three weeks. She
was born Dec 7, 1909, in Warsaw. She married Henry J. Hawkins
on Aug 6, 1926, and became a homemaker. He died April 1, 1977,
in Elkhart. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Luella P.)
Reiff and Mrs. Roy (Sue) Ferguson, and two sons, Arthur "Skip"
Hawkins and Robert Hawkins, all of Elkhart, 17 Grandchildren;
22 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and two
sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Rosey) Morrison and Mrs. Charles (Dora)
LeGras of Kendallville. A son Richard, died in 1969, and seven
brothers and sisters are deceased. Friends may call from 2 to 4
and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral
Home, where the funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. The
Rev. Clare Schumn of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church will
officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery. Memorials
may be given to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart
