made a Knight of the Bath at the Coronation of Henry VIII <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/aboutHenryVIII.htm> on 23 Jun 1509, and Master of the King's Horse on 26 Feb 1509/10. He was Captain of the "Regent", the largest ship in the Royal Navy, and he was killed in action at sea off Brest in a battle with the French on 10 Aug 1512.
