bullet  General Notes:

Most of my life I have lived in North Liberty or South Bend, IN, but did spend a few years in Washington, DC, Fairfax, VA and 4 years in Cleveland, TX. The prior locations were as a young child and TX as an adult. After thinking I would never be able to attend college, due to lack of finances, a friend, neighbor and artist, Jake Webster, was helping me work on getting my GED at the local neighborhood center. He told me about government grants for low income families and I decided to see what I could find out about them. In the long run, I atteded college for 7 years over a 20 year span and received various associate degrees. At Ivy Tech, I received Associate degree in Small Business Management and one-year certificates in accounting and industrial management, with a minor in public relations and advertising. Some years later, at Davenport College (which then became a university), I received associate degrees in PC Technician, Marketing, and Computer Networking; as well as a certificate, with Honors, in Software Applications Specialist (using Microsoft Office) and certificates of preparation for certification (preparing to take exams) for Novell Netware Administrator and A+ Certification (exams never taken). I also taught myself entry-level web site design.

After researching my family history for nearly a year now, and having learned so much about our local history, I am attempting to hire in as the archivist at Center For History and am currently doing volunteer work in the Local History Department at the St. Joseph County Public Library. My ideal job would be as a research assistant in local history for the museum (Center For History). I have met several relatives that I didn't know were even related to me, and have also located graves for approximately 200 graves of ancestors buried in St. Joseph County. It's been exciting to find new family members and meet with them, to learn of stories as various ones have grown up, or just to find a bit of information that other historians in the family have not yet found!

Jesus Christ is the center of my life and He is my Lord and Savior. I accepted the Lord at the age of 7 years old, and was filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost, at the North Liberty United Pentecostal Church and was baptized by Rev. Donald L. Miller, at the North Liberty Church. As an adult, I got away from God, but in 1995, I started back to church. In February 2001, my best friend, Cami Amendt, took me to a Bible Study, where I stayed on. Eventually, in October 2001, a church grew out of the Bible Study, with Pastor Patrick Blevins. Today he is my pastor at One Accord Christian Fellowship. I also have completed classes in "Understanding the Endtimes", Levels 1 & 3, by Brother Irvin Baxter, of Richmond, IN. These are classes in understanding the signs of the endtimes and Bible prophecies...what the Bible says about things happening in the last days before the Rapture occurs.
