Dale was born in the back seat of our 1946 Ford on the way to the hospital. I delivered him while Mom drove. She wouldn't believe that he was coming until Dale started crying. Mom stopped and woke some people up and got some alcohol and string to tie the cord and cut it. We then took Violet and Dale to the hospital in Tacoma.
