He became the King of Aragon in 1327 and ruled until his death. He married twice: first Teresa d'Entença and then Eleanor of Castile after his first wife died.

Alfonso married Teresa d'Entença Countess of Urgell [63375] [MRIN: 551618523], daughter of Gombald d'Entença [43431] and Constance of Antillón [43440], in 1314 in Cathedral of Lerida. (Teresa d'Entença Countess of Urgell [63375] was born in 1300, died on 20 Oct 1327 in Zaragoza and was buried in Zaragoza Franciscan Church.). The cause of her death was giving birth.

Alfonso next married Leonor of Castile Infanta of Castile [11360] [MRIN: 5131], daughter of Fernando IV the Summoned of Castile King of Castile and León [11361] and Costanza of Portugal [11362], on 5 Feb 1329 in Tarazona. (Leonor of Castile Infanta of Castile [11360] was born in 1307 and died in 1359 in Chateau de Catroheriz.). The cause of her death was murdered.
